Your image needs to have a DPI (dots per inch) resolution that will work for printing:
- The minimum resolution for commercial printing is 150 DPI, and the maximum is 750 DPI.
- The minimum resolution for newspaper printing is 120 DPI, and the maximum is 600 DPI.
Ask your printer what resolution your artwork needs to be, and then set the resolution before you watermark your image.
Note: Images created for the web are usually set at 72 DPI. If you use an image like that for watermarking, the watermarking process will automatically increase the resolution to 150 DPI.
